Pharmacology Predoctoral Training Program & Grant


Current Trainees 

  • Eden Barragan entered the Neuroscience grad group in 2015, and is currently working with Dr. John Gray. ​Research project title: “Genetic Manipulation of the NMDA receptor Co-agonist Site.”
  • John Dawson entered the Biophysics grad group on 2017, and is currently working with Dr. Igor Vorobyov. Research project title: "In search of molecular mechanisms for drug-induced cardiac arrhythmias via atomistic simulations."
  • Juan Flores entered the Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology grad group on 2017, and is currently working with Dr. Karen Zito. Research project title:  "Mechanisms of Saturation of LTP at Single Dendritic Spines."
  • Jessica Huang entered the Biochemistry, Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology grad group on 2016 and is currently working with Dr. Igor Vorobyov. Research project title: "The role of somatostatin in maintaining beta cell identity and function."
  • Joseph Martinez entered the Neuroscience grad group on 2016 and is currently working with Dr. Yang Kevin Xiang. Research project title: "The Role of β2-Adrenergic Receptors in the Regulation of α-synuclein expression in Parkinson’s disease."
  • Emily Misnick entered the Biomedical Engineering grad group on 2016 and is currently working with Dr. Alyssa Panitch. Research project title: "ascular regeneration after vessel injury by endothelial cell recruitment with antiplatelet and antithrombotic collagen-binding molecule LXW7-DS-SILY."
  • Noah Pacifini entered the Biomedical Engineering grad group on 2016 and is currently working with Dr. Jamal Lewis. Research project title: "Unraveling the mysteries of vomocytosis for development of a lymph node-targeting microparticle vaccine."
  • Brandon Pressly entered the Pharmacology and Toxicology grad group on 2015 and is currently working with Dr. Heike Wulff. Research project title: "Design of a K2P1 Channel Inhibitor for Hypokalemia-associated Arrhythmia."
  • Scott Tiscione entered the Pharmacology and Toxicology grad group on 2016 and is currently working with Dr. Eamonn Dickson. Research project title: "Misregulation of store-operated calcium entry in a human neurodegenerative disorder."
  • Max Vargas entered the Neuroscience grad group on 2017 and is currently working with Dr. David Olson. Research project title: "How steroid hormones influence neural plasticity."​
